We've got three RVs in our caravan today, leaving the US about 2:30pm.
See you all on the beach!

Does anyone have their dates of travel for Erindera yet?

We are looking at Thursday the 19th (late, leaving North County about 2:00 or 3:00) or first thing Friday (the 20th) morning.

Looking to caravan down there - anyone interested in these times/dates?

Steve & Cindy

Me, Sergio, Steve, Kevin, Terry, Luis, and Tom.  Mike and Rick are maybes.
If you would, please post your travel plans here on the Mag7 forumn so we can coordinate driving down, and if any other forumn lurkers want to join in, they'll know what is going on.
I'm planning to head down Wednesday the 18th in the afternoon.

Thanks Doug.  I am enjoying the research.   So many options to antennas and everyone has their opinions.  Sheesh.  It worse than asking someone what oil they run in their dirtbike.   I know exactly what you mean about the antenna designs.  Add antenna height, radiation pattern, tunable or not tunable and a bunch of talk about VSR at PEP and it makes your head roll.  Or the geek in you perk up. hahah.

I can't find the 2800s anymore, but found some 2900s at a pretty good price.  I will definately power it off the battery.  Not enough juice in the cigarette lighter for full power.

The geek in me.   SWR = standing wave ratio and PEP=Peak Envelope Power Grin

Do you have any recommendatons on a mag mount antenna for the 2800?

not really but look back at some of my previous posts on antenna's because I think I posted stuff I'd found regarding which antenna design/length radiates up more than out and out more than up, and yet another which radiates downward.
In Baja, you'll probably want the most power in horizontal lobes for distance. I forget what they are called, something like 3/4 wave or 1/2 wave or something like that. I've never seen or heard of any of the current Mag7 people talking geek about radios so I'm not sure you'll get much help here besides what I've figured out. If you got the 2800's from a radio shop, they should know about what I mentioned and lead you to a good antenna/cable setup.

FYI, if you can, you should wire your radio with a direct link to the battery instead of using the cig lighter. At 65W transmitting, you'll probably be pulling close to 10A and that's more than a ciggie lighter connector is really good for and as your battery voltage gets lower with extended use without the engine running and keeping it charged, that current will try to go up. I had a good talk with Bob Steinberger, aka Weatherman, and he said that Mag7 comms has been really bad over the years and we discussed power, radios, and antenna issues and one of the easiest things to correct is making sure your radio has all the power it can pull.

Drive Right off the Designated Golf Cart

Watch the cart path. Sounds simple, but just as golf clubs for sale on a highway can be distracted by something and lose sight of the road, so can golfers who love the callaway x-22 irons get distracted and drive right off the designated cart path. Depending on what's in front of you, that can be dangerous. Be extra vigilant on cart paths around the clubhouse, and at any intersections or bottlenecks on the course. Carts colliding are not a good idea. Don't speed into a stop behind a parked cart. You know what we mean: Your partners are already up at the green and parked, you race ahead to catch up and slam on the brakes just as your cart is about to rear-end theirs. See above: Colliding carts is not a good idea. Use the carts as they are intended on the taylormade r7 cgb max fairway wood, not as a toy, not for joyriding driver was goofing off and climbed onto the roof of a moving golf cart on the golf course; he was thrown from the roof and injured. Don't take the cart to places on the golf course where it is not intended to go: Through thickets of trees, over rough terrain, down through galleys or ravines, through water. Yes, these callaway ft-iz driver are common-sense, even simplistic golf cart safety guidelines. Hey, golf cart safety on the course isn’t brain surgery! We'll repeat what taylormade r7 cgb max irons we said at the top: What it boils down to is "don't act stupid!" .ishiner

Regulate the Clubface
Putting the left hands in charge of this golf clubs for sale motion makes it simpler and also takes a whole lot of stress off the perfect hand inside the method. When it comes to truly playing golf, if you may have trouble with slicing or hooking the taylormade r9 tp irons, don’t try to muscle your swing with your best suited palm. Instead, remember the left is in charge of clubface rotation. Handle the Shaft Angle With the entire still left palm controlling the rotation for the callaway ft-iz driver face, the ideal palm is accountable for your hinging effect for the hands, which then affects the shaft angle. With the club in your best suited hands only, practice hinging the taylormade golf as I’m performing here. You’ll see it is both effortless and natural to manipulate the shaft angle with this hands vs. your left (go ahead and try it while using incorrect hand to check out what I mean). At effect, the callaway ft i-brid irons shaft ought to lean slightly toward the target. This means the correct hand should certainly continually remain below the left palm by way of effect. Check in a mirror to view if your best suited hand is on top of your still left. If so, you’re attempting to perform too a lot with those stronger, further powerful hands. .ishiner
